An urban agriculture project in the shadows of I83.
Baltimore Free Farm is committed to creating ecologically sound alternatives by combining the best of age-old and modern technologies. We strive to promote urban agriculture, sustainability, and permaculture through the creation of green spaces and community sanctuaries which utilize reclaimed materials whenever possible. By providing entertainment, educational opportunities, and ethically produced food to local residents, we hope to instill a sense of pride in one’s community and its ability to sustain itself.
Baltimore Green Currency Association
A local currency movement aimed at strengthening local businesses and community by keeping Baltimore’s money in town. Yes, there are alternatives to the modern financial system. Check out the
B-note. Over a hundred and fifty businesses accepting them!
Baltimore Free School
The
Baltimore Free School is a grassroots, volunteer-run and community-funded project, based at 1323 N. Calvert. St. Building upon a long tradition of horizontal organizing, collaborative learning and participatory education, we believe that the empowerment of people of all ages and backgrounds to share and learn is vital to the health of any community. To that end, we work toward creating a space where the exchange of ideas can occur without the exchange of money; a space where we can learn to relate to each other in new and meaningful ways. By building this infrastructure, we hope to form a microcosm of the world in which we want to live.

Ernst Mach
This is an entry I wrote for the
Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. In “The Influence of Biology and Psychology Upon Physics: Ernst Mach Revisited, published in
Perspectives on Science, I argue that Relativity Theory owes a small but significant debt to 19C psychology. That is, the relativization of space/time occurred within the life sciences first and this offered a conceptual challenge to the Newtonian framework which was picked up indirectly by Einstein and the new physics.
Environmental Ethics
My father published four editions of this college
textbook, and I have since published a 5th and 6th Edition.
I also co-authored an essay with Evelyn Wright, “Evaluating Technology Options in Climate Policy Debates”.
